James Arthur is certainly going to have a very merry Christmas after winning the X Factor 2012.
Now, he has recorded an eXtra special Christmas carol for fans which is sure to leave you feeling, erm, festive.
The 24-year old’s version of We Wish You a Merry Christmas isn’t the cheeriest version of the track we’ve ever heard, but we’re sure James meant well!
James has been a busy boy today after beating Jahmene Douglas to take the X Factor crown last night (Sunday December 9).
After partying with the stars, including I’m a Celebrity’s Helen Flanagan and The Hoff (surely a sign of stardom), James was straight into a day of interviews, kicking off with a chat on Daybreak with Lorraine Kelly and Aled Jones.
He said: “It hasn't sunk in yet... I was very overwhelmed and I think that's why my reaction was so still. I couldn’t quite believe it. I actually thought they said Jahmene!”
James added: “The statistics about people winning the X Factor I am not going to take much notice of. I’m not going to do much waiting around - I’ve got a lot of material ready to go now and as soon as I can get in the studio I will get my stuff out and it will be all of my own material.”
For now, James’ winner’s single, Impossible, is available to download on iTunes.
100 per cent of the profits from the track will go to Together for Short Lives, the UK’s leading charity for children with life-threatening and life-limiting conditions and those who care for and support them.
