X Factor duo MK1 reveal they are devastated for Jade Ellis

MK1 may have been voted off The X Factor last Sunday night (21 October), but since then the pair have been busier than ever, playing gigs to loyal fans up and down the country.

Although loving their lives at the moment, they revealed all about that heart sinking moment they lost their place in the competition.

Charlie said: “We have had such a crazy week since we left The X Factor. Obviously, there was this massive low point coming out, it was a bit disheartening, but the next day we had a meeting with our management and they had been inundated, flooded with people that wanted bookings, so we’ve been out performing every day since.”

The group were travelling to Scotland last night, ahead of their hotly anticipated performance at Campus on Sauchiehall Street, Glasgow, so they missed the dramatic moment Jade Ellis was voted off the show.

Charlie and mum-of-one Jade became best friends during the series (although they were never romantically linked, as some reports suggested) and the MK1 stars were understandably devastated to hear the soulful singer was now also out of the running for X Factor 2012.

Sim said: “We can’t wait to see Jade when we get back to London and give her the biggest cuddle ever. And then just talk about how she should stay focused as we did and I’m sure she will ‘cause she knows there’s a market out there for her to capitalise on. She’ll go forth and be strong. She’s such a level headed girl.”

So who do MK1 think will be crowned X Factor champ 2012? There was a split in the camp as Sim backed Jahmene Douglas, while Charlie tipped Ella for the top, although she’d love James Arthur to clinch the title.

The duo also spoke about their love for ‘Uncle Louis’ – mentor Louis Walsh – and how Tulisa was a big fan of the group and has stayed in touch, offering them advice.

While MK1 are relishing every opportunity the X Factor has afforded them, they are looking forward to, in the coming months, getting back into the studio and working on their own material – something they treated fans to a taster of at Campus last night.

Judging by the reaction, MK1’s urban sound is a massive hit with the crowds and their down-to-earth, refreshingly honest approach to the industry is sure to see them go far. How eXciting!
