Susan Boyle is a lady who knows a thing or two about talent shows, having come second on Britain’s Got Talent back in 2009.
Despite travelling the world performing and promoting her latest record, Susan still likes nothing better than cuddling up on the sofa and tuning into the X Factor.
This year, she has an eXtra special act to cheer on...
Susan is supporting fellow Scottish singer Nicholas McDonald, who she thinks is “fabulous”.
Speaking to Showbuzz presenter Laura Boyd at the launch of her Christmas single, Oh Come, All Ye Faithful, Susan said: “I like the wee laddie from Motherwell.”
She added: “He’s great, he’s fantastic.” Praise indeed from this record-breaking artist.
While Susan thinks Nicholas is a star, she refused to say whether she thought he would win the show.
True to the lovely lady she is, Susan said: “That would be unfair of me to say that cause they’re all good. The programme itself is very exciting to watch. I like to see all the interactions.”
Susan has attracted fans from across the globe, but his parents have been most grateful for the support in his local community in Motherwell.
Eileen McDonald explained: “The community has been absolutely fantastic. I cannot believe how genuinely nice people have been. That is really important for us as a family. It’s been overwhelming.”
Nicholas is currently practicing for Big Band Week on the X Factor – a theme he should enjoy, given he has been dubbed “baby Buble” on the show.
Tune in to find out how Nicholas and the rest of the acts get on when X Factor kicks off at 8pm on Saturday night.
