Shia LaBeouf and Tom Hardy play the infamous Bondurant Brothers in violent gangster flick Lawless – based on a true story about bootlegging siblings chasing the American Dream in Prohibition-era Virginia.
While Lawless may be too gruesome for some and doesn't achieve the epic status it aims for, it's a beautifully shot film featuring some powerful performances from an all-star cast.
Next up it's the emotionally charged spy drama Shadow Dancer, adapted by Tom Bradby from his own novel, and starring Clive Owen and Angela Riseborough.
During an aborted bomb attempt in London, Collette falls into the hands of an MI5 officer, Mac, who offers her a deal - turn informant or go to prison.
Fearing for her son's welfare, she returns to Belfast where betraying family and beliefs she becomes a reluctant mole for British intelligence.
And finally it's the futuristic action thriller Dredd - and unlike Sylvester Stallone's 1990's version, this 2012 reboot of the iconic sci-fi comic strip actually works. Karl Urban plays the ultimate crime fighting cop, in a violent mega city were police have the power to act as judge, jury and executioner.
