Emmerdale 40th anniversary week: sneak peek of all the action and drama

Emmerdale’s 40th birthday spectacular kicks off in a matter of days, with a week-long celebration jam-packed full of drama, tears, tantrums and twists.

And we’ve got a very special sneak peek of all the action for you right here. Settle in, it’s going to be a bumpy ride…

On Monday (October 15), tensions are riding high as Chas gets ready to marry Dan. Chas is having a serious case of cold feet – especially with Cameron hanging around at every opportunity.

Debbie nervously awaits her induction and it’s clear Cameron’s full attention isn’t on her as he grabs any opportunity he can to go and go to see Chas.

Meanwhile Chas plays a very careful game, convincing Carl that she’s planning to leave the village with him that night, begging him to give her time so she can break up with Dan in her own way. She’s a minx, that girl.

Trying to put her plan into action, Chas tries to convince Katie to let her and Dan get married first, saying she’s got cold feet and just wants it over and done with. But Katie is furious and a slanging match ensues, with the joint reception being called off as a result.

Meanwhile as Katie gets ready for her wedding to Declan, and the groom-to-be leaves for the church, Megan decides to take a look at the accounts – and realises that she’s been fleeced by the pair for £250k. She is absolutely furious and decides she can’t hold her anger until after the wedding. Oh dear!

Elsewhere, Jimmy is floored when he finds out from Edna that Carl has sold his entire share of the business to Charity behind his back, and he storms out of the wedding to confront his scheming brother.

On Tuesday’s episode, Debbie starts to get contractions, so tries to get a hold of Cameron who is on his way to confront Carl. After being unable to track him down, Debbie tells Cain and Zak they have to get her to hospital as soon as possible. Debbie’s struggling and it’s critical to get her to hospital for the directed cord blood collection in order to save Sarah. Will she make it there in time to deliver the saviour sibling?

Jimmy also manages to finally confront Carl about his deal with Charity – before Carl makes it clear his brother means nothing to him anymore.

Meanwhile, Cameron has turned up to confront Carl, but Jimmy arrives and ruins his chance. Standing by Mill Cottage, he watches as the King brothers tear each other apart. Where will it all end?

Elsewhere, Chas’ nerves are in tatters as her wedding starts. But that’s not all she has to worry about as during her second day of bridesmaid duties, Gennie goes into labour.
