Emmerdale star Natalie Anderson has revealed that her character Alicia Gallagher will be leaving the soap on a cliffhanger ending.
Alicia will be leaving our screens in a few weeks as Natalie is expecting her first child and has gone on maternity leave.
Alicia is currently facing jail for assaulting Val Pollard, and the storyline is set to build up, leading to an explosive exit.
Speaking to This Morning about her recent storylines, the 30-year-old said: “I definitely can come back and I definitely hope to be back by the end of the year, but it was a huge surprise for me.
“I genuinely thought I would have just been going off to see my sister, wherever she is, and then this huge storyline came about with a previous conviction, the fact that she’s falling in love with David as well and Justin coming back to try and take Jacob.
“It was just so elaborate, I was like, ‘Thank you so much, I’m really grateful!’
“The way that she leaves it is very much on a cliffhanger. When I read it I was like, ‘No! Oh my God!’ So hopefully the audience will be willing her to come back!”
