Emmerdale star Charlotte Bellamy has promised that a big new storyline is brewing for Laurel Thomas, her onscreen alter-ego on the rural soap opera.
After a hectic twelve months in 2012 – which saw the vicar's wife leave husband Ashley and move in with new flame Marlon Dingle – Laurel's life has been relatively quiet of late, but Charlotte revealed in a recent interview that things are soon to change.
The actress teased that Marlon's ex Rhona Goskirk, and her addiction to painkillers, is set to make Lauren's life all the more complicated once again.
Bellamy told Inside Soap: "Laurel's involved in Rhona's painkiller addiction because of Marlon and baby Leo.
“That bleeds into a big storyline for Laurel.”
The 39-year-old actress was not giving away any details as to what lies ahead for Laurel, but reassured fans that 'exciting' times lay ahead on Emmerdale.
"I can't reveal too much, but there are consequences from Rhona's drug taking that will cause something to happen to Laurel,” she told the magazine.
“It'll be exciting, and I'm looking forward to it!"
