Life has been tough for Ashley in recent months and he’s lost everything, forcing him to take a job in a burger bar, but things are set to get worse tonight as he gets the sack.
Things kick off when Alex and Victoria see Ashley working at the burger bar, and he begs them to keep it a secret, feeling ashamed and embarrassed. The pair go straight to Laurel, however, and tell her, leaving her confused as to why he didn’t tell her the truth about his job.
Going to visit Ashley at work, she walks in to see Gareth laying into Ashley for stealing burger buns and sacking him on the spot, leaving Ashley completely humiliated.
Later, Laurel turns to Marlon for comfort, and when Ashley turns up in the Woolpack for a drink, Alex mocks him, trying to goad him into a fight, and poor Ashley is dealt a further blow when Laurel sides with Alex, telling her husband that she can’t forgive him for getting fired.
Elsewhere in the village, Lisa is worried about Zak’s well being and becomes suspicious of two men in the Woolpack who are waiting for Zak. Confronting them, she tells them that Zak is in hospital, and asking Cain to go after them to find out what they want, Lisa breaks down in tears.
Meanwhile, Chas offers to buy tickets to Paris for Sarah’s birthday, while Val agrees to drop the charges against Alicia after Amy gives her an ultimatum.
