Val’s return to the village hasn’t been a happy one, and things go from bad to worse tonight when Alicia loses her temper and smacks Val in the face.
Things kick off when Pollard arranges a holiday to Cornwall for him and Brenda, leaving Val furious that she’s being left to run the B&B herself.
Trying to get sympathy from Amy, her complaints fall on deaf ears, leaving Val devastated. As she turns up at the Woolpack with a bottle of wine she turns on David, telling him how pathetic and spineless she thinks he is.
Seeing red, Alicia snaps and smacks Val hard across the face, causing a nosebleed. Val is furious and immediately calls the police, who promptly arrest Alicia.
Meanwhile, Ashley starts his new job in the burger bar, and when Laurel tells him that the rent needs paid, he tries desperately to get an advance on his wages and is laughed out of the office.
When he turns up at Mulberry Cottage later with the rent money, he lies about where he got the cash. How much longer can Ashley keep up his pretence? Not for long it seems…
Elsewhere in the village, Cameron is feeling guilty over his affair with Chas.
