It’s normally Jason Gardiner who faces the public backlash on Dancing on Ice but last night Phillip Schofield was inundated with complaints.
The presenter hadn’t done or said anything wrong. Angry fans were merely tweeting him to vent their frustration at Comedy Dave Vitty being voted off the show.
Writing on Twitter, Phillip said: "Hmm, very interesting twitter feed tonight. Lots of very valid comments, but can I point out.. I'm not a judge! No point shouting at me!"
He later added: "Right, that's it. Too many angry tweets pointed at the wrong person. Night night. Tweet ya tomorrow."
Dave was a guest on This Morning today and Phillip told him: "I had to turn my phone off last night for all the people who were outraged that were getting in touch with me!"
Dave ended up in the skate-off with Kerry Katona who was favourite to leave but in a last-minute twist, Emma Bunton and Jason Gardiner chose to save Kerry and the Radio 1 favourite was sent packing.
Dave wasn’t bitter though and said he had loved his time on the ice.
He told Phillip: "We got halfway through the show. All I wanted to do was to not go out in the first week. I've had a brilliant time."
