Shayne Ward reveals ‘gritty acting plans’ following Dancing on Ice exit

Being eliminated from Dancing on Ice on Sunday hasn’t ruined Shayne Ward’s spirit, with the singer bubbling over with plans for his next move in the showbiz world.

Not content with being a former X Factor winner and amateur ice dancer, Shayne has now decided to launch himself into the acting world.

The star has been taking acting lessons in recent months and has set his heart on cracking the industry.

And ‘gritty’ parts that would see the 28-year-old hunk able to really get his teeth really stuck into playing troublesome characters, would make up his ideal roles.

“I want to go for gritty roles: police, Army gangs,” Shayne explained to The Sun.

“I’ll be the criminal. With the bald head, the tattoos, it’s a given, a done deal. That’s what I want to do. I really want to build a life around that. My agents are ready to go.”

We’re not sure twirling around the ice dressed in skin-tight sequined outfits and fake tan during the last few weeks has really helped the hard man image Shayne!

The actor was booted off Dancing on Ice on Sunday night after a shock result saw him and EastEnders actor Matt Lapinskas in the bottom two, when the public failed to get behind the boys despite the fact both gave stellar performances that night. Take a look at Shayne's sexy, hip-swivelling routine now.

That meant they each had to take to the ice once again to perform their ‘Save Me Skate’. Despite Shayne giving a flawless performance, and Matt stumbling during his routine, he was voted out three-to-one with just judge Jason Gardiner opting to save the singer.

But he’s far from bitter about the axe, telling host Phillip Schofield on Sunday night: “I’m truly devastated…but he’s [Matt’s] always going to come out on top.”

Shayne has since asked that his fans don’t turn against Matt in anger about the actor being saved over him.
