Anthea Turner says Dancing on Ice saved marriage to Grant Bovey

Axed Dancing on Ice star Anthea Turner might have lost out on her dream of becoming queen of the rink but she’s thanking the show for much more than that, after revealing that it helped get her marriage back on track.

Anthea kicked hubby Grant Bovey out of their luxury home last year after he was linked to another woman.

But the couple have now reunited, with former Blue Peter presenter admitting that keeping her mind busy and focused on her new project helped her immensely.

Dancing on Ice was at the right time for me. I think sometimes if you have too much time on your hands, you spend too much time thinking, rethinking, doing creative thinking,” the former TV golden girl told The Sun.

“We’re women, that’s what we do – we pick over things, we reconstruct things and we morph things that aren’t even there.

“So actually the skating was fabulous because you have to concentrate on it and it did it for me.”

Anthea unfortunately lost her place in the competition on Sunday (January 27), the fourth episode of the contest, after finding herself in the bottom two against fellow TV personality Keith Chegwin.

But while she’s been booted off, Anthea has one very nice reminder of her months of intense ice dance training, with the hostess revealing that hubby is enjoying her sexy new figure.

“I’ve got a skater’s bum. I need to hold on to that,” Anthea joked.

“Grant has noticed it. I haven’t had one as good as this ever – it’s a great bum.”

Dancing on Ice returns to STV this Sunday, when the remaining eight contestants do battle once again. They are: Samia Ghadie, Gareth Thomas, Beth Tweddle, Matt Lapinskas, Luke Campbell, Shayne Ward, Joe Pasquale and Keith Chegwin.
