A man has pleaded guilty to causing grievous bodily harm on the Corrie star Mikey North in April.
A 19-year-old man, Stuart Stocks from Sherburn, North Yorkshire, admitted that he had punched the actor as he returned home from a night out with his girlfriend in Scarborough on April 11, says a report in the Yorkshire Post.
Mikey, who plays Gary Windass, had to undergo emergency surgery after the vicious attack left him with a broken jaw.
Stocks admitted the offence at Scarborough Magistrates' Court on Friday.
His solicitor said: "My client is bitterly regretful of what has happened. He is extremely contrite and full of remorse. It was one blow."
Mikey, who also suffered two black eyes in the assault, said in a statement on May 13 that he was still in pain and suffering from headaches leading to anxiety. The actor also said that he was having to attend regular hospital appointments as a result of the attack.
The statement added: "I was due to have some large parts over the next three weeks. Some storylines will be lost and I may not be able to get them back and I am paid according to the storylines."
Sentencing has been adjourned until June 11, and Stocks has been remanded on unconditional bail.
