Sean Bean would still love a Coronation Street role

Sean Bean has repeated his desire to appear in Coronation Street.

The actor said he would love to "pop up" in Weatherfield for a cameo if soap bosses could find him a good role.

He told the Daily Star: "I would love to pop up in Corrie if they find me the right character.

"But maybe one that doesn't stay too long."

Bean first said he would like to join the Street in 2010, describing the show as his "favourite soap".

At the time he said: "They haven't contacted me or my agent about it, so it's over to them."

Other celebrities who have said they would like a role in Corrie are Cheryl Cole, Snoop Dogg and Kim Kardashian.

Meanwhile. Corrie producer Phil Collinson confirmed last June that he had approached Julie Walters's agent about a guest appearance.

Julie told the Radio Times: "I did once mention that I'd love a part in Corrie and they were immediately on the phone to various agents."

She added: "But I think that might have to wait for later in my career now."
