Coronation Street's Shobna Gulati has revealed that she is pleased with the reaction to her character's current affair storyline.

Her alter-ego Suinta Alahan has been cheating on partner Dev (Jimmi Harkishin) with Karl Munro (John Michie).

The actress says she has received lots of messages of support on twitter over the plot line.

Sunita is currently staying at The Rovers with Karl's girlfriend Stella (Michelle Collins).

However, Karl can't believe she is allowing herself to stay with the woman they are betraying.

Gulati admitted on twitter that she had received "bonkers" messages from fans over the storyline.

Later she wrote: "I think it's great you lot spill your feelings out re: Sunita, I love it. I've never caused so much controversy... Love my job."

She continued: "And before I sleep and just to put your minds at rest, I haven't on telly or in real life boiled any bunnies..."

Fans will apparently see Sunita realise she made a mistake dumping Dev, before trying to patch things up with a marriage proposal.
