Coronation Street executive producer Stuart Blackburn has given some hints on upcoming storylines.
Blackburn revealed that he has decided who will be the father of Kylie Platt’s baby.
Kylie (Paula Lane) is pregnant but does not know if her husband David or his brother Nick Tilsley is the father.
Asked by Digital Spy if they had decided, Stuart said: “Yes, we have! There's a lot more to come with this storyline."
He also hinted that Carla Connor (Alison King) and Peter Barlow (Chris Gascoyne) are in for some tough times.
Blackburn said: “There's something so dark, brooding, passionate and tempestuous about them.
“I don't think they're destined for a life of cosy domesticity while I'm here."
Meanwhile, it was recently revealed that Beverley Callard would be returning to her role as Liz McDonald.
"Liz is 'proper Corrie' for me, and one of those working-class matriarchs that the show does so well,” he said. Also returning to Weatherfield is Bruno Langley as Todd Grimshaw.
Stuart said: "Things haven't been going so well, so it's more of a damaged Todd that will return."
