Britain’s Got Talent may be over for another year but after uncovering a host of truly talented acts, we doubt it will be the last we have heard of many of them, not least, runners-up Jonathan and Charlotte.
The pop / opera duo had been favourites to win the series since they first appeared at the BGT auditions, but they were pipped at the post on Saturday night’s final by dancing dog act Ashleigh and Pudsey.
Despite losing out on the top spot, Jonathan has had nothing but praise for his experience on the series and he took to Twitter to congratulate the 2012 champs.
He Tweeted: “Thankyou for all of your support! Ashleigh and Pudsey deserved to win, and I'm proud to be friends with them!”
He also told fans: “It was a fantastic experience and without it no one would know our names, we are truly grateful to all at BGT!”
Jonathan and Charlotte are tipped for great things after wowing with their final performance of The Prayer.
David Walliams told them: “Well congratulations. I think Ashleigh and Pudsey have some competition! Guys that was sensational. Ever since we saw you on the show you’ve been superstars, and that was your best performance yet. It was so heartfelt, it was so professional. We love you both, you’re both fantastic and I think you’re going to do very well tonight.”
Alesha Dixon added: “I want to hear that again, that was so amazing. You look the part tonight.”
Amanda Holden was just as impressed, saying: “Just ridiculous, just absolutely ridiculously good. I’m running out of words!”
Simon Cowell then referred to the fact Jonathan refused to ditch Charlotte from the act, following his advice, adding: “Unbelievable. It made me realise with you two not only are you talented but your loyalty and friendship is with makes this act so special, and you are lucky to have each other.”
