The delightful duo first graced our screens on audition show three of the series and immediately melted everyone’s hearts with their pawfect routine to The Flintstones by the B-52s.

Simon couldn’t wipe the smile of his face as he said: “You know me, I love a dancing dog… Pudsey’s one of the best dancing dogs I’ve ever seen.” He knows talent when he sees it that man. Watch it here.

With Alesha and David just as enthusiastic, it was three yeses from the judges and a place in the semi-final for the talented twosome.

As the pair made their way onto the stage for the first live semi final of 2012, they performed pretty pawsomely - take a look. Decked out in white, they had all of the judges up on their feet and dancing, and they sailed through to the final.

17-year-old Ashleigh said: “Pudsey means everything to me and I know that all he ever wants to do is please me. The comments we received couldn’t have been any better, which made me feel so proud of Pudsey.” Totes emosh!

“I could totally see him in films, he really knows how to pose for the camera, and I reckon he’d make a better actor than Lassie.” Viva la diva!

In the final, Ashleigh and Pudsey wowed with a performance to the Mission Impossible theme.

The pair descended from the ceiling and did an impressive routine complete with tunnels, seesaws and a parade across the judges’ desk.

Their marvellous act earnt them a standing ovation from the judges and audience. Did you love it? Watch it here.

David Walliams said: “Well Ashleigh I can’t believe you came out tonight and did another new act, I don’t know how long it takes to train Pudsey but it’s is the third original act we’ve seen from you and the nation loves you and Pudsey. I think you are the ones to beat.”

Alesha Dixon told the pair: “I can’t cope, this moment right now is too much! I think what you are doing for anyone out there in this country who treats animals wrong is you are showing them how special dogs are and what you can do and what you can achieve. Ashleigh you are a star and Pudsey, oh I can’t cope! You are the ones to beat.”

Amanda agreed saying: “It’s just ridiculous how much talent there is, it was unbelievable, sensational. I’m running out of adjectives on this show.”

Barking mad for the doggie delight, Simon added: “I think Pudsey is training you, I’ve worked it out now! One of my favourite acts, because I love animals.”

Ashleigh and Pudsey went on to beat pop / opera duo Jonathan and Charlotte and take the BGT 2012 title, much to their delight.

As Ashleigh cried tears of joy, she hugged Pudsey and said: “I want to say a massive thank you to everyone that voted for me, I’m so proud of Pudsey it means so much!”

Simon said: “My life’s work is now complete… this has been my favourite year.”
