Britain’s Got Talent final: Kai and Natalia slip-up during fight for glory

Britain’s Got Talent finalists Kai and Natalia danced up a storm on tonight’s tense grand final, as they battled in the bid to be named champions – but received mixed feedback from the judges.

Kai Widdrington, 16, and Natalie Jeved, 15, sizzled as they sashayed across the stage to Bruno Mars’s upbeat hit Runaway Baby, injecting a little bit of Saturday Night Fever into the nerve-wracking evening.

Wearing a skin-tight PVC cream and black outfit Natalia looked stunning, while Kai was sexy decked out in black.

And after opening their dance sequence with a posse of backing dancers, the pair took centre stage, spinning and twirling their way around the stage, showing off the skill and grace that earned them a place in the BGT final.

But a slight stumble and a “lack of passion” led one half of the judging panel to slightly criticise the performance.

David Walliams was a fan, telling the pair: “You know Simon was right you are winners. You came out and you attacked it and it as a fantastic vibrant performance.

“You’re in this competition because you have made ballroom dancing sexy and cool and that was a terrific performance tonight.”

Alesha Dixon continued: “I think ballroom and Latin dancing has always been sexy, it’s just performing it on a different stage.”

However she also had some slightly negative feedback for the dancers too, adding: “I have to be honest it was a little disjointed..

“But I still loved you guys and you blew me away.”

Amanda Holden also agreed, adding: "I have to say I kind of agree with Alesha, I know you’re dedicated to what you do, and you put a lot of hours into what you do, and you recovered from that slip brilliantly…but I felt it lacked passion.”

But Simon Cowell disagreed with the girls, and said following the accident it was a “miracle” that Kai and Natalia even made it onto the BGT stage tonight following an earlier injury.

He added: “I think viewers will forgive the slip up in the middle but people would like you in terms of the hard work you put in, your personality. I hope the audience get behind you tonight.”

Kai and Natalia have been dancing together professionally for two years, and have won awards after competing in events around the country. Natalia even moved to England after her family left for Cyprus, so she could be Kai’s dance partner – so this pair are clearly very committed to making their dream come true!

The down-to-earth dance duo admitted that they never expected to do so well on BGT, so when they found out they’d made it to the final they hadn’t even prepared a routine for it.

“It felt amazing. It was completely unexpected as we genuineliy never thought this would happen for us. This was the best moment of ours lives,” they revealed.

Think how happy Kai and Natalia would be if they won Britain’s Got Talent 2012!
