BGT 2013: Asanda Jezile tackles a Beyonce ballad and blows judges away

This year’s Britain’s Got Talent has been full of talented teens and cute kids keen to impress the judges, but adorable Asanda Jezile left them stunned during her first audition with an amazingly powerful performance.

The 11-year-old was thrilled to make it to tonight’s live final, and as she belted out classic Beyonce track If I Were a Boy, the judges were once again amazed by her talent.

Waltzing onto the stage dressed in a smart suit and surrounded by smoke, schoolgirl Asanda had the judges bopping along and nodding their heads in approval, and accompanied by a host of backing singers, the audience absolutely loved her, leading to the whole auditorium breaking out in applause.

Alesha absolutely loved the performance and told Asanda: “You are a freak of nature!

“It takes artists years to get to that level of performance and presence, and your voice, by the time you get into a recording studio, you have one of the nicest tones to your voice and I can’t wait to hear your album.”

Amanda was also blown away by Asanda and told her: “You have such attitude. You remind me of Will Smith’s daughter.

“I want to be the first in line for your autograph as there will be a massive queue.”

Simon couldn’t believe how good Asanda was and said: “You have done three performances so far for us and this is so far the best by a mile.

“When I meet you backstage you’re a sweet normal girl and when you walk on stage you turn into this different thing and I love that.”

David added: “It’s not like watching an 11-year-old girl, its like watching a superstar.”

Asanda was delighted with the judges’ comments and said: “I have enjoyed every bit of this.”

Asanda is one of several singers in this year's Britain's Got Talent - Gabz, Jordan O'Keefe, Arisxandra and Richard and Adam - and they all go up against dance troupes Pre-skool and Attraction, wildcard act Steve Hewlitt, comedian Jack Carroll, band Luminites and impressionist Francine Lewis.
